Experience
Judge Thomason has a business degree, ten years of banking and business experience, and eleven years of trial court experience in addition to almost twelve years on the bench. She has one of the busiest dockets in the state; she has handled over 13,000 circuit court family law cases and over 88,000 district court cases (civil, criminal and traffic) since taking the bench in 2006
Knowledge
Judge Thomason knows the law and applies the law correctly and fairly. While no continuing education is required for judges, Judge Thomason recently received an award by the Chief Justice of the Alabama Supreme Court for receiving over 700 hours of continuing education since taking the bench. In over 13,000 circuit court cases she has handled, she has only had five reversals/remands from the Court of Civil Appeals. She is also in frequent demand as a guest speaker and lecturer throughout the state.
Integrity
Judge Michelle Thomason believes the integrity of our judicial system depends on the strict adherence to the Rule of Law. Her unwavering commitment to this principle is evident by her stellar appellate record. She is a lifelong conservative Republican, and has been actively supporting the Party for many years in leadership roles. Her faith is important to her. She is actively involved in our community, is a Paul Harris Fellow and member of Fairhope Sunset Rotary, is a member of Impact 100, as well as on other boards and in many leadership roles.
